Remodeling
of Bungalow, Porlock, Somerset
A dated 1970’s
bungalow with magnificent views to Wales across the Bristol Channel
has been transformed by this dramatic remodeling, opening up the
interior to natural light and creating new vistas across the water.
New bays were formed to create extra space to the ground floor
rooms and to allow light to flood into the interior from three
aspects. An enlarged landing was created with a first floor balcony,
with entrance hall below. As the land banks up steeply behind
the rear of the house, specially designed windows were created
to allow, views of the woodland behind and, southerly light to
cascade into the kitchen.
